My baby boy!

Today my Son is one week old! How time is flying by! HA!

He is doing so good. He is eating more already and starting to stay awake more instead of just eating and sleeping.

When changing his diaper he would scream bloody murder so we have changed the routine to: Feed him first when he wakes up, then change the diaper. He doesn't seem to mind it as much that he is naked since his belly is full. Then after that, rock him back to sleep.

I have cherished every moment with him in my arms; no matter what time it is. I want to cry when I hold him because I start to think of the great blessing that he is to his mom and I.

This weekend we will download some current pics and I will post them to the blog.

STAY DRY!!!

tick, tock, tick, tock...

That is the sound of the clock running down the time until Corban gets here. Jennifer is currently at home and has been having contractions, which are different from all the rest, but they have not been consistant.

Who knows, we may get to see Corban before the day is over with?

I have a confession...

...I joined face book and I think I am addicted!

Does anyone know of an AA meeting that takes place for people like me?

Who wants a baby...

...ME!!!

Here is what we know:

Jennifer had a doctor's appointment yesterday. She is dilated to 1 1/2. FINALLY...something!

On Monday Jennifer has another appointment, if Corban has not arrived before then. If they see no reason to keep her, they will send us back home and will have us back at the hospital at 5:00am on Tuesday Morning (24th) where they will start the process and allow nature(medicine) to take its place!

I feel that we will be seeing Corban before then because Jennifer's contractions were getting harder last night but if he does not make his appearance before we know for sure that it will be on Tuesday.

Thank you for sharing this experience with us and for being exited with us! Keep us in your thoughts and prayers! We will be sure to try and call ALL of you or get the word to you somehow.:)

No Baby

It is Monday morning on the 16th and still no Corban. Per the "baby calendar" we have 6 days to go but like we have been saying we would love to see his little-self earlier.

On Saturday Jennifer could tell "certain things" were happening and that hopefully at her doctors appointment today they will tell her that she has dilated some.

The car is packed with everything but the kitchen sink and with a full tank of gas!

Yesterday after church we "borrowed" one of the quads and took him home to play with him, which as you can imagine just makes us want Corban here all the more! I know he will get here on his own time and when God wants him here, but that doesn't stop us from getting excited.

So we wait and since we wait...so do you!

Country Cooking!

There is NOTHING like a good home-cooked meal!.

Last night for dinner I cooked:

Cube steak battered in a seasoning we make here at work and then made homemade gravy with the stuff left over in the frying pan and had peas and mac and cheese. YUMMY!

Then I topped it off with Ben and Jerry's "Cake Batter" icecream. It was very good too. If you haven't had that kind try it!

Our new piece of Furniture

Happy Wife...Happy Life...and I'm a HAPPY HAPPY man!!!

This is our new Rocker/Glider-recliner! It is a chocolate color with cream colored stitching along the edges. Jennifer had been wanting one and if you know me I have to search until I find the "perfect" one; just like I did with my wife! Ahhhhhhh!

Baby Gift and door Bow...

These are some gifts from some friends of mine that also own LeFleur Florist here in Calera. They always do a WONDERFUL job on arrangements and any kind of gift that you need. I use them for personal and work related things. If you ever need something be sure to give them a call. 205-668-2228!

A baby blanket!

Among MANY other things we got we also received this blanket that a lady here at work got for Corban. As you can see, she had it made and it is the colors from the wall that we had painted in his room.

Just like his Daddy!

The doctor announced yesterday that Jennifer had not dilated any! She is having contractions and actually had one while in the doctors office.

According to my Mother, this is similar to what happened to her while she was pregnant with me. She didn't dilate until she was in Labor. It seems we might have a case of "Like Father like Son?!" Who knows? We are 38 weeks and 2 days prego with 12 days to go.

The doctor did say that he would like to see her dilated by her visit next Monday so we will see.

Is anyone doing a Baby Pool? What is your guess on when Corban will arrive?

The BIGGEST Baby in the World...

My work gave Jennifer and I a Dipes and Wipes shower on Friday. It was at the shower where everyone got to see the BIGGEST baby EVER!!! Had I known this was going to happen I would have passed on the shower!

Thank you to everyone who helped with the shower, attended and gave gifts. It means a lot to Jennifer and I.

Today we are 13 days away from Corbans "expected" due date. Jennifer goes back to the doctor today so we will know this afternoon if she is dilated any and if Corban will possibly be arriving sooner? We are blessed and are getting more and more excited as we await his arrival. Stay Tuned!!!

To do list...

My work is giving Jennifer and I a Dipes and Wipes party today for Corban. I am very thankful for them and for doing this. After the party, my "to do list" for this afternoon and this weekend will be to:

1) Find a place for the dipers and wipes at home
2) Do taxes tonight
3) Get car seats in both vehicles
4) Get suitcase for hospital in the car
5) Purchase anything we "must" have for Corban that we did not already receive
6) Meet a friend for breakfast in the morning
7) Sweep, mop and dust the house...again
8) Rake up remaining leaves and enjoy the sunshine and a high of 65; I will probably wash the cars too
9) Church on Sunday and then home to rest

"To do list" is subject to change upon water breaking and Jennifer going into Labor!

New Gift Shop

If you are in Calera or the surrounding area and in need of a gift for someone, be sure to stop by Barbara's Candles and Gifts. They are located behind the Calera Post Office! Their number is 668-0909. Their website is being created so if I remember I will post that on a later date.

There was a ribbon cutting for them today. Nice place and nice people! SHOP CALERA!!!

How?

Question?:

How does a couple who has been in and out of work for a year, who has 3 children, and who gets assistance from the Government receive around $12,000.00 on their tax returns? They have no "deductions" to claim other than their children! And, in case you are wondering they did not do their own taxes, they had a tax service handle them. Any one want to explain?

Snot...

...is what I have been blowing out of my nose for a week now! Last night I thought for sure that I had finally gotten it all out but I was wrong. It is back again today; not as bad, but still there. I haven't been sick, just snot stuff. How much more could there be! Yea, I thought you should know! I share everything else with you!

Baby Fat...

Well, I hate to admit it, but through this whole pregnancy, I have gained about 10 Lbs. I find myself snacking almost as much as Jennifer. I couldn't let her eat by herself though. What kind of Husband would I be!

I will call it Baby Fat!

Rainy Monday

I was able to get the leaves up this weekend. The little bit that is left can be ran over with the lawnmower at the first cutting.

We didn't get the taxes done but can possibly do them this week? It does need to be done before Corban gets here.

Jennifer was having a lot of pressure yesterday and tightening. She has a regular scheduled appointment this afternoon so we will know more and see if Corban is preparing to make his arrival sooner than the 22nd. Which by the way, as of yesterday, Jennifer is full term! Can you believe it! Each of you have been putting up with me for almost 9months about the soon arrival of our son. We are VERY excited and more so as the date moves closer.

The hospital suitcase is being packed with clothes, video camera and regular camera, breast-pump and the kitchen sink! We have to be prepared for everythingright?! HA! :)

Try to stay dry this Rainy Monday!!!

Jennifer will be changing the Diapers!
