Getting closer...

For those who do not know already, yours truly is running for City Council.

These past two weeks I have been working on getting everything in order for the qualifying month, which is July.

To go ahead and inform you, you may be getting a letter from me asking for your financial support for my campaign. Any amount that you can contribute will be GREATLY appreciated. If you would like to support me and you know that I do not have your address, please email it to me and I will send you a letter.

I have a company working on the pricing for the yard signs and other means of advertisement. I opened up a P.O. Box today because the advertisements have to have the "this paid for by the committee to elect...etc." on it.(and I don't want to put my street address on anything.) Here is something funny about the PO Box. It is the SAME box that I had about 5 years ago when I moved to the area for a year and then moved away. (how funny huh!)

Here is my campaign slogan:

WORKING FOR YOU IN DISTRICT 2 - VOTE ERIC SNYDER CITY COUNCIL.
(of course this will be formatted a different way)

Hey...City Council today...President tomorrow!

Court Case of Pregnant Lady...

--
A lady about 8 months pregnant got on a bus. She
noticed the man opposite her was smiling at her. She
immediately moved to another seat. This time the smile
turned into a grin, so she moved again. The man
seemed more amused. When on the fourth move, she had
the man arrested.

The case came up in court. The judge asked the man
(about 20 years old) what he had to say for himself.

The man replied, 'Well your Honor, it was like this:
When the lady got on the bus, I couldn't help but
notice her condition. She sat under a sweets sign that
said, 'The Double Mint Twins are coming' and I
grinned.
Then she moved and sat under a sign that said,
'Logan's Liniment will reduce the swelling', and I had
to smile.
Then she placed herself under a deodorant sign that
said, 'William's Big Stick Did the Trick,' and I could
hardly contain myself.
But, your Honor, when she moved the fourth time and
sat under a sign that said, 'Goodyear Rubber could
have prevented this accident'... I just lost it.'

CASE DISMISSED!

How to use Your IRS Rebate check...

As you may have heard, each of us will be getting a tax rebate check to stimulate the economy.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China . If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer it will go to India . If we purchase fruits and vegetables it will go to Mexico , Honduras , and Guatemala . If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan . If we purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.

We NEED to keep that money here in America . The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at yard sales, since those are the only businesses still in the US!

Deer

I had opened the blinds in the living room this morning as I was getting ready for work. As I passed back through I looked out the window and this is what was crossing the street by my neighbors house.(look behind the chain-link fence line!)

There is about 7 of them. I was zoomed in all the way so this is the best pic I could get.

How cool is that!!!

Friday

It seems that we have made it to Friday. It has been a pretty busy week at the office. A girl that I work with was moved to customer service so we have been short one person in my department for about 1 1/2wks. On top of that we closed out the end of our year here at work and this week has been the first of the new so that adds to the HECTICNESS and I have been filling in for our Purchase Manager while he has been on vacation!!! But, I survived. I like being busy at work but I also like to have a moment or two to breath.

You know one thing that has been bugging me is the Lack of Commitment people have. People say they are going to do something and do not do it. People join a "voluntary" group knowing that they are making a commitment to something for an X amount of time and have to come to X amount of things but everytime they do not show up and do not volunteer for anything. It's like they just want their name associated with the group.

This goes for the same for groups at church. If you are going to join the band, praise team, choir, childrens ministry, etc., please join with the intent of giving some of your time to that group. Please join with the "RIGHT" motives as well and not just to have your name assosciated with it. If you cannot attend the little bit of meetings, practices, etc that are required of you for that group then you need to rethink your involvment.

And one more thing. If you tell somebody you are going to do something...DO IT!!! Do not leave people in waiting as if they have all eternity to wait for you. They asked you for a reason, you agreed to do it, so do it. And if you have planned to meet at 5pm for someone DO NOT show up late!!! This is disrespetful. I have waited and waited up to an hour after the alotted time for someone to show up. It's NOT funny and there is NO excuse in the world that could be given that would make up for it. (other than an accident or your death!) If you are going to be late call the other party and let them know so they are not rushing to get there to be on time.

I am on a few committee's and in some groups and these are things that I have been seeing around me for a couple of months now. You get about 10-15 people involved and then 5 people end up doing all the work.

Eccelesiates 5:2 says "Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God." Plainly put, this is saying that God takes what you say as a contract. Do not be quick to agree to something that you know you cannot do because of lack of time or other commitments. Remember the days when people's words meant something? When they said that they would do something they did it. Now we have lawsuits and fights amoung brothers and sisters because of lack of committment.

Okay, I am finished preaching!
