Life is forever CHANGING!!!
--
I know we know that life is forever changing and sometimes it seems it changes faster than other times.
My vice president, Sandra K. Purvis, here at work passed away on Thursday at 12:05am. She had cancer and after her last surgery never fully recovered. She was 68. Too young to die, but not too young to see her Savior!
Sandra was the Lady who's house I would go over to on Saturdays and work out in the yard. She had a back yard that looked like Botanical Gardens. BEAUTIFUL!!! I spent MANY of a day over there and probably in a three year span I was at her house almost every Saturday.
Yesterday was the viewing and funeral. It was really hard because as memories where brought up about her you couldn't help but cry because you will not experience her doing those things again, but you would also laugh because you knew, "Yea, that was Sandra!" I am glad that I have the memories. Sandra was like my Aunt or "Mingo" as her neices and nephews called her.
Sandra, you will be forever missed here on earth!
The wife and I will becomse "parents" this afternoon to a cat named "Jazzy Purvis". Jazzy is Sandra's cat and needs a home and there was no hard decision to make to provide him with a home. He is a very loving cat and is a type of Persian I think. He is gray with a full-white maine.
Also, I will be able to get some cuttings from Sandra's yard for my yard. One thing I am making sure that I am going to get is some Hydrangea's; her favorite and one that I had come to love.
It will still take some time to adjust here at the office without Sandra here and realize the fact that I will not be going over to her house on Saturdays anymore, but we will adjust with time.
If you made it to the end of this post, thanks for reading.

Tired...
I do not feel like I am getting enough rest. Or maybe I am getting too much? I was in bed a few minutes after 9 last night and turned off the tv by 10. If it's too much sleep I am getting I have to say that I was falling asleep before I even turned off the tv.
On the weekends when I can sleep in I am up by 7am anyways. Who Knows???
Tired I will be I guess...

Business After Hours
Tonight is our Business After Hours for the Chamber. This marks our 4th one for the year.
I have to say that I am really pleased with how they have been going. The past two months we have had between 30-40 people. This is our first year doing them.
It is getting closer and closer to the Cruise date and I can hardly wait. Everything is ready except for packing.
The wife and I are going to look at a house today. Not to say that we are "for sure" moving but we have been thinking about it. Since I am running for City Council, if I get the seat for District 2, which I hope I do, and if we choose to move, we have to move to another house in that district to be able to keep the seat. Near the end of the 4 years and before the next elections you have a chance to move and be in your new address 30 days before a certain deadline.
But like I said, we are not "for sure" saying we are moving, just looking around right now. Who knows, we may choose to build a Master suite onto our current house and possibly push out the left side of the house and make the current livingroom, kitchen, and dining room bigger. We love our house and this could be an option?
It's about 3:30 so I am out of here until tomorrow!

Boneless Chicken Breasts!
--
A supermarket had a sale on boneless chicken breasts, and a woman I know intended to stock up. At the store, however, she was disappointed to find only a few skimpy prepackaged portions of the poultry, so she complained to the butcher.
"Don't worry, he said. "I'll pack some more trays and have them ready for you by the time you finish shopping."
Several aisles later, my friend heard the butcher's voice boom over the public-address system: "Will the lady who wanted bigger breasts please meet me at the back of the store."

Preacher and Author
I have started reading books written by Max Lucado. He is a Pastor and an Author of a church in San Antonio, TX. If you have not read any of his books I encourage you to start.
I have already read "Come Thirsty" and I am currently reading "Next Door Savior". I've got two more on the coffee table waiting for me when I am finished with the current one.
On another note I am still awaiting my NEW bike that I purchased. OH YEA, I forgot to tell you all that I purchased a new bike! It is suppose to ship sometime this month. I wish I was getting it before my ride Saturday but it's not going to happen. Here it is:
By ordering direct I saved $250.00. There is no taxes and shipping is FREE!!!(so I really saved MORE!)
To help cover the cost of the new one I put my Mountain Bike, that I haven't rode in atleast 2yrs, on Ebay(really my Mother did). It sold for the price I was asking for in 3 days. $300.00 and the guy came from Douglasville, GA to my job and picked it up. (that is about a 2 1/2 hr. drive for him) Praise the Lord!
So here I wait for my NEW bike checking the Tracking number everyday to see if it is on it's way. (they didn't specify when in May it would ship when I ordered it the last week in April).
Well, the clouds are getting darker in the sky and it appears at any moment that the rains will come. Of course there will be storms with the rain because that is the way it happens in Alabama. We can't just get rain w/o the storms. I wish I was at home laying in bed, watching TV or reading my book with the windows open and listening to the rain fall when it starts.

Bogo, ecb, opp & oop !!!
I feel like people's blog I read have started typing in Ebonics or something?!*
I found out what the meaning of BOGO means but what are the other two?
Also, I understand wanting to get the best deal, but are you traveling all over the place to get these deals, therefore spending $50.00 or so in gas? If these stores are a five minute drive from each other that could be worth it.(just checking!)
Somebody HELP me!

A nice weekend
I have to say that I had a pretty good weekend. I am tired from it, but it was good.
The wife had her last Volleyball tournament this weekend so I did my thing while she did hers.
I left for a friends house after work on Friday. This is one that I don't get to hang out much with. We had a blast as I knew we would. Talking, cutting up and not getting into bed until 3am on Saturday.
I got up at 8:30am on Saturday and went to my parents house where we were suppose to go to something that was being held downtown but the storm and rain made us not be able to. My mother and I ended up going to look at a few houses for sale and then headed to my brothers house. There we all just visited and then headed to dinner. From there I went home.
I had signed up for providing breakfast at the hospitality table at church so I worked away making a few things for that.
Sunday after church I went to a friends house where a few guys were getting together. We grilled out and watched a movie. Are you ready to hear what we grilled?...You might get jealous! We grilled...hamburgers, brats, T-bone steaks, filet-minons, Steak strips and Ribeye steaks. Yup, that's right...Steak! Steak! Steak!...Nothing but a Meat Buffet! It was ALL good and I think I got my fix on steak for a while. HA!
Last night we started a "Movie Night" at church. I don't know if this will be a monthly thing or an every three month thing but it was fun. We watched "Facing the Giants." It was really good. It was made by a church who put it together for about $40,000.00. The acting, because it is not professional, is a little cheesy here and there but the Christian message was GREAT and would speak to anyone who watched it. A very good, challaging movie. Makes you think!
Now I sit here Monday needing more sleep but glad that it was a great weekend and ended up being a weekend with family and friends. God is Good!!!

Friday Pics...
I took these pictures this morning just to give you something to look at. The roses are always nice to see blooming. The picture of the two green things are a big bloom of something. I forgot I even planted them, so I can't wait for them to bloom. The two potted plants I thought I killed during the winter, but they are coming back full force!
Everyone have a great weekend!
