I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
Ours was great! We are truely blessed! The Saturday before Christmas I had my family over at our house where we opended presents with my grandparents. On Christmas eve I grab a few more things for stocking stuffers and then later that evening we were all over at the Wife's parents house doing the Christmas Eve thing.
We had Christmas together on Christmas morning. We didn't do much between each other this year beacause:
1)We get what we want when we need it throughout the year.
2)If you remember, we spent about $4,000.00 for a new engine.
After our time together we headed to the Bride's parents house and then from there went to my parents house. We were back at home by 7:30pm.
This weekend we went to my other grandparents house and saw them since they do not make it up for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It was a great visit and I will post a few pictures of them when I get a chance.
It is crazy to think that Another Year has Gone By!
I can't say that I have ever been big on "New Year Resolutions!" All I know that I want to do this year is set a time aside EVERYDAY to grow my relationship with God. I allow the busyness of the day get in the way and then I am too tired to focus on Focusing of time with my Father.
When I spend time with God I feel the difference. Things DO seem to go easier and things do not bother me as much. This is already going to be a busy year and I know I can't do it on my own. I can't wait to see what God has in store for this new year!
Everyone have a safe and wonderful New Years Eve and New Years Day!
Until Next Year...2008

Leaves!
Our yard is covered in leaves. This past Saturday I found the driveway. Almost forgot that we had one. Had to uncover it though so we wouldn't back into the ditch.
This time last year the bride and I raked up about 50-60 bags of leaves. The size of each bag was 55 gallons. (now do you feel the blisters on your hands?) A few times already this current year I have taken the leaf blower and blew one side of the yard to the fence and then raked up into bags.
I ran into a neighbor yesterday and I asked him if he had a riding lawn-mower with a bagging system and if so could I use it. He does and he said yes. Praise God! So, after Christmas I am going to suck-up the leaves. I can already tell this is going to go alot faster than last year. Having good neighbors is GREAT!!! Now if that one Oak tree, out of five, will finish dropping its leaves I can get it all done at once.

The stockings were hung on the Armore with care...
In hopes that St. Nick would soon be there!
Oh how time flies! If you ask me, this year has been one of the fastest.
As I sit and type this I think about all that has happened this past year. Things I worried about, things that I was glad happened, things I was sad that happened, and things that never happened. The conclusion that I have come up with is, "It really does NO GOOD to worry about tomorrow." Imagine that, God's word really does speak Truth!
As you hussle and bussle remember the true meaning of Christmas!!! The birth of Jesus Christ!

F.Y.I.
After reading the comments about the post about the "Peacock" story, I need to clear something up:
This was not my dad nor anyone I knew. It was an email "joke" that someone sent to me that I thought was FUNNY!!! Which it is!
I apologize for the misunderstanding. I will always remember in the future to besure that if it is a joke that I mention that.

True or Not, it is Neat!!!
There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me.
What in the world do leaping lords, French hens,
swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out
of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?
Today, I found out.
From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were
not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone
during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics.
It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning
plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each
element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality
which the children could remember.
-The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.
-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.
-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.
-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching,
Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.
-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness,
Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.
-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.
-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.
So there is your history for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol...so pass it on if you wish."
Merry (Twelve Days of) Christmas Everyone!
I don't really know if this is true, but either way it is really neat!

Too Funny...I had to share!
I took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes. We decided to grab a bite at the food court.
I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him. The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors: green, red, orange and blue.
My dad kept staring at him. The teenager would look and find him staring every time. When the teenager had enough, he sarcastically asked,
"What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?" Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I
would not choke on his answer, knowing he would have a good one. And in classic style he didn't bat an eye with his response: "Got drunk once and had sex with a peacock. I was just wondering if you were my son."

Pecans and Candy
Every year our Boss purchases pecans and candy to mail to customers and to give to the employees. The other day I boxed and mailed a total of 200 pecans and 42 boxes of candy. This Friday the Employees will start receiving theirs.

Where to start?
0) To start, we only have 13 days until Christmas!!!
1) The Christmas Parade went very good and we had about 60+ people in the parade.(floats, cars, etc.)
2) We have not finished our shopping and we keep putting it off; or just don't find time to do it!
3) I am working my fingers to the bone and lacking sleep!
4) Believe it or not, I am about "Christmas Partied" out and we still have a couple more to attend.
5) I am now officially, as of yesterday, the Chamber of Commerce President. I am looking forward to a great year coming up.
6) Gas prices are making me sick everytime I look at the signs and have to fill up. The news says that "Consumers control the price so if we stop driving as much we would see the prices come down." WRONG!!! We can't stop driving as much. We, the bride and I, are not driving anymore than we normally do. What "the people" don't know or understand is that people are cutting back everywhere else in their budget because of the high prices!
7) This weather is crazy! I should have been in shorts these past few days but starting tomorrow it will start getting cold again.
