Signed, Sealed, Delivered!

--
The taxes are done and filed via Turbo Tax. Since we were both home last night, which is unusal, we spent the quality time doing our taxes. All it took was 2 hours! I am glad to have them done and glad not to owe any money to Uncle Sam; as if he doesn't get enough already.

The Doctor is in!

--
I finally broke down and went to the docotor yesterday. I tried to fight off whatever this is the best I could with over the counter meds but I finally had to get something stronger.

After my doctors visit I went home for the day. I still didn't sleep well last night. I don't know if I am coughing and that is waking me up or if the medicine isn't allowing me to sleep? Since lunch I have felt the best since I got this mess on Saturday so thank God that I am getting better.

I really hope this weekend it gets up in the 60's like they say it is suppose to. I am ready for some warm weather. This past Saturday was suppose to be in the 60's but it never got above 45 degrees.

The Chamber stuff is keeping me busy as usual.

On another note, keep me in your prayers because I am reading through all the material about what is required and the do's and don'ts to run for City Council. It is a big step but I know I can do it.

Do you got it?...

I got it...What is it???...the Crud!!!

It attacked me sometime Friday night. I woke up Saturday morning not feeling well and it just got worse from there. Sunday I didn't even go to church. Yesterday I came to work but should probably have stayed home. Today is much better and getting better. I have a cough and a little fever that seems to come and go throughout the day which I am controling with tylenol.

I am hoping tomorrow it will be all gone.

So, beware, at all times, of the CRUD that is out there seeking whom it may latch onto!!!

Valuable Information...

--
To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine and those who don't:

As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces.

In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum,
whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process
of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health. Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of s***.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service.

An elephant asked a camel,
"Why are your breasts on your back?"

"Well," says the camel,
"I think that's a strange question
from somebody whose wiener is on his face.

You know you are laughing!!!

Valentine's Day

-
How does a busy Married couple spend Valentine's Day you ask?...

First by getting up and going to work. Then, by going out to dinner at about 5pm at Taco Bell before the Wife has to go to have Volleyball pictures made and then have Volleyball practice.

This is how a busy Married couple spends Valentine's Day!

What are you doing for Valentine's?

My Beautiful Wife...Happy Valentine's Day Baby!!!

This picture is a few years old but I still like it.

How smart is your right foot?

-----

This is way too crazy and we just have to really wonder how the mind really works.

Just try this. It is from an orthopedic surgeon............ This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It's preprogrammed in your brain!

1. WITHOUT anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY......) and while sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction. I told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it!

You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

Weekend!

Why does the weekend always seem to fly by so quickly. On top of doing things that you can't seem to get done on during the weekday, you try and get some relaxation.

Well, this weekend I did get some relaxation. Friday night I watched 3 little girls (who are growing up really fast). We played hide and seek most of the night; a game which never seemed to end. We had lots of fun though!

On Saturday I lounged around, went for a walk, washed the car, took a shower and then meet up with my inlaws to go to the Wife's first Volleyball Tournament.

After about 2 hours I headed home and then meet up with some friends.

Sunday at church the service was great. The Holy Spirit filled the room really heavy and it seemed everyone was lost in the Spirit for a while. I LOVE it when that happens. God really moved yesterday!

After church we went out to lunch, then I went for a bike ride since it was so nice and then headed home where I took a shower and lounged around until bedtime.

So, like I said, "It was a relaxing weekend," but I still didn't want to get up this morning.

Update on Amanda Barnes! God Is AWESOME!!!

Day 11 and Counting

What a day we've had! They removed Amanda's neck brace and the ventilator. The doctors told Trina yesterday that it was a possibility they would remove the vent and NOT do a tracheotomy, but my brother-in-law asked that we not pass along that information in case it never materialized. BUT IT DID!

Amanda's throat was very sore and her voice was so soft you could barely hear her. We thought it would be several days before she'd be able to talk loud enough but, by this evening, she was chatting. They changed her pain medication again and she was quite loopy and had some very funny things to say, including telling her mother that she needed some clothes so she could go sit in the waiting room with us and watch t.v.

I got to go in and see her. I kidded her about setting the nurses straight tomorrow after a good night's rest and she smiled. She was getting very tired after talking so much.

It's amazing how something so small as the removal of ONE tube could have such a huge impact on all of us. Her medical condition really hadn't changed, but just being able to talk to her after 11 days of standing by her bedside not knowing if she'd live or die was an unbelievably good thing.

Now, the challenges. Her white cell count is elevated, which probably indicates infection. They believe it's due to her central line and are moving the line to the other side of her body. They've taken blood samples for cultures to find out if it's just an infection in the port or if it's in her bloodstream. Pray that it's only in the port.

They also decided today to do a cat scan. She has a concern in one of her legs that they're trying to better understand. Pray that it's nothing, please.

She's still a very sick young woman with some potentially serious problems looming over her but, for tonight at least, we are all very happy. As I was getting ready to leave the hospital tonight, her boyfriend, his best friend and my niece's best friend decided to walk out to the parking garage with me. As we waited for the elevator, her boyfriend softly said what was on all of our thought: "At least I'll be able to sleep tonight!"

Still Got It!!!

Until this past Saturday I had not been on my bike for about 2 months. Saturday morning, once it warmed up to about 58 degrees, I suited up for a ride. I went by myself because I didn't know how far I was going to ride and I didn't want to have to keep up with someone or be able to only go a few miles and then fall over dead.

Well, I am proud to say that I did 22 miles.(please note: the only motor that this bike has is my two legs). I took back roads all through the outskirts of the city and just took my time. I could have rode some more but I was ready to get off.

Now to other news:

I was VERY disapointed at the Super Bowl commercials this year. There was one, maybe two, that were funny but other than that they really stunk. What would be worse than paying the price to run an ad for the super bowl would be to pay the people who came up with the ad that stunk!

Now to other news:

Who out there is EXCITED about getting the Tax Rebates!!! Of course, those who have children should be a little more excited. I know of one...Nicole...that will receive a little extra mola for her "little tax rebates"...$1200.00 + 300.00 + 300.00 + 300.00 + 300.00 = $,2,400.00.

Of course the whole purpose of the rebates is to put the money "back into the economy." They did say that if this rebate didn't do much there could be more sent out. So here is what we do. Once you get the money put it in your bank and keep it there. If everyone did that they would be forced to send us more and more and more!!!
But I am sure that some people already has theirs spent???

Remember to keep Amanada in your prayers. Not much has changed and she is still in for a long road ahead for recovery; once she gets to that point.

Sad...

--
It is sad that, as it stands right now, that I will have to choose to vote for a candidate for President just so the other one doesn't win. The sad part is...I don't like either one of them!

EVERYONE NEEDS to be praying for this election.
